During the month of January, we responded to 6 calls. They consisted of 1 false alarm, 1 service call, 2 grass fires, 1 vehicle fire, and 1 structure fire.
On January 12th and 13th, the fire department held classroom training on Hazardous Materials Operational Level Refresher. The class was worth 4 credit hours each night.
During the month of December, we responded to 5 calls. They consisted of 1 false alarm, 1 MVA, 1 kitchen fire, 1 brush fire, and 1 outside rubbish fire.
During the month of November, we responded to 6 calls. They consisted of 1 false alarm, 1 MVA, 1 service call, 1 outbuilding structure fire, 1 chimney fire, and 1 grass fire.
On November 8th, the fire department held classroom training on Fire Service Communications, taught by LSU-FETI instructor David Watson. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each.
During the month of October, we responded to 8 calls. They consisted of 3 false alarms, 2 MVA, 1 mutual aid structure fire, 1 combine fire, and 1 EMS call.
On October 1st, Tensas Fire participated in the Tensas Academy Homecoming Parade.
On October 8th, Tensas Fire participated in the Tensas High School Homecoming Parade.
On October 11th, the fire department held classroom training on Smoke Reading, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Luis Fernando Videgaray. Those in attendance received 4 credit hours each.
On October 12th, the fire department held classroom training on Scene Size-up, Strategies and Tactics, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Mike Jackson. Those in attendance received 4 credit hours each.
On October 29th, Tensas Fire participated in the Trunk or Treat held at Tensas Elementary School.
On October 30th, Tensas Fire participated in the Trunk or Treats held by the Town of St. Joseph and the Village of Waterproof.
During the month of August, we responded to 10 calls. They consisted of 2 false alarms, 1 MVA, 2 brush fires, 1 vehicle fire, 3 structure fires, and one mutual aid response for a heavy equipment fire.
On September 8th, the fire department held classroom training on Modern Fire Attack: Incumbent Firefighters, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Luis Fernando Videgaray. Those in attendance received 4 credit hours each.
On September 9th, the fire department held practical training on Advanced Fire Suppression, utilizing a live fire prop, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Johnny Ogden. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each.
During the month of August, we responded to 4 calls. They consisted of 1 false alarm, 1 control burn, 1 transformer fire, and 1 EMS call.
Due to the spike in the COVID Delta variant, no training was held in August.
During the month of July, we responded to 8 calls. They consisted of 1 MVA, 1 service call, 1 false alarm, 3 cancelled alarms, 1 grass fire, and 1 EMS call.
On July 12th, the fire department held classroom training on Downed Aircraft Awareness, taught by FAA Aviation Safety Inspector Scott Lynn. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each. In addition to Tensas Fire, representatives from Tensas Parish Sheriff's Office, Tensas Parish Coroner's Office, Northeast Louisiana Ambulance Service, and LSU-FETI were present.
On July 13th, the fire department held classroom training on the Charleston Super Sofa Store Fire Line of Duty Death Case Study, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Johnny Ogden. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each.
On July 24th, Tensas Fire participated as part of the safety detail for the Thunder on Bruin Airshow.
During the month of June, we responded to 12 calls. They consisted of 1 MVA, 1 service call, 4 cancelled alarms, 1 cooking fire, 1 gas explosion, and 4 EMS calls..
On May 6th, the fire department held classroom training on Structural Fire Attack, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Johnny Ogden. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each.
On May 7th, the fire department held practical training on Structural Fire Attack, utilizing the Multi-Story Fire Attack Prop, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Johnny Ogden. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each.
During the month of May, we responded to 4 calls. They consisted of 1 MVA, 1 vehicle fire, and 2 false alarms.
On May 3rd and 4th, the fire department held classroom training on Traffic Incident Management Systems - Responder Safety on the Roadway, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Mike Jackson. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours for each night.
During the month of April, we responded to 14 calls. They consisted of 1 MVA, 4 service calls, 3 structure fires, and 6 EMS calls.
On April 12th and 13th, the fire department held classroom training on New Vehicle Design - Awareness, taught by LSU-FETI instructors Johnny Ogden and Luis Fernando Videgaray. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours for each night.
During the month of March, we responded to 8 calls. They consisted of 2 MVA's, 1 service call, 1 vehicle fire, 2 equipment fires, 1 brush fire, and 1 structure fire.
On March 15th, the fire department held classroom training taught by LSU-FETI instructor Luis Fernando Videgaray on Drafting & Water Shuttle Operations. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each.
On March 16th, the fire department held classroom training taught by LSU-FETI instructor Jeremy Johnston on Emergency Vehicle Driving. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each.
During the month of February, we responded to 5 calls. They consisted of 1 false alarm, 1 service call, 1 brush fire, 1 structure fire, and 1 EMS call
On February 8th, the fire department held classroom training taught by LSU-FETI instructor Johnny Ogden on Driving Fire Apparatus. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each.
On February 9th, the fire department held classroom training taught by LSU-FETI instructor Luis Fernando Videgaray on Relay Pump Operations. Those in attendance received 3 credit hours each.
During the month of January, we responded to 14 calls. They consisted of 4 false alarms, 1 service call, 1 MVA, 1 LZ request, 1 airplane crash, 1 electrical fire, 1 trash fire, 1 grass fire, and 3 structure fires, with 2 exposure fires.
On January 11th, the entire department renewed their BLS Provider, which consists of Adult/Pediatric/Infant CPR, Operating AEDs, and First Aid.
On January 19th and 20th, those department members that are Emergency Medical Responders took a 16 hour refresher course.
On January 25th and 26th, the fire department held classroom training taught by LSU-FETI instructors Luis Fernando Videgary and David Watson on Hazardous Materials Operations, an 8 hour course.
During the month of December, we responded to 7 calls. They consisted of 3 structure fires, 1 RV fire, 1 cooking fire, 1 chimney fire, and 1 combustible fuel explosion.
During the month of November, we responded to 4 calls. They consisted of 1 false alarms, 1 farm equipment fire, 1 trash fire, and 1 EMS call.
During the month of October, we responded to 9 calls. They consisted of 2 false alarms, 2 service calls, 2 grass fires, 1 oven fire, 1 EMS call and 1 landing zone request.
On October 6, we held classroom training on Max Fire Box Burn to Learn, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Johnny Ogden. There were 7 department members in attendance who received 4 credit hours each.
During the month of September, we responded to 8 calls. They consisted of 1 false alarm, 2 heavy equipment fires, 1 cotton bale fire, 1 trash fire, 1 vehicle fire, , 1 MVA, and 1 EMS call.
On September 22, we held classroom training on Basic Fire Ground Search and Rescue, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Luis Fernando Videgaray. There were 10 department members in attendance who received 3 credit hours each.
During the month of August, we responded to 11 calls. They consisted of 2 false alarms, 1 service call, 1 car fire, 2 trash fires, 1 heavy equipment fire, 1 structure fire with an exposure, and 3 EMS calls.
There was no training during August due to COVID-19.
During the month of July, we responded to 8 calls. They consisted of 3 false alarms, 1 MVA, 2 service calls, and 2 EMS calls.

During the month of June, we responded to 13 calls. They consisted of 1 structure fire, 1 mobile home fire, 1 trash fire, 1 grass fire, 1 cooking fire, 1 control burn, 2 service calls, 1 MVA, and 4 EMS calls.
On June 9, we held Driver Training on Mathematics of the Driver/Operator, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Johnny Ogden. There were 14 department members in attendance who received 3 credit hours each.
On June 10, we held Driver Training on Drafting and Water Shuttle Operations, taught by LSU-FETI instructor David Watson. There were 12 department members in attendance who received 3 credit hours each.
During the month of May, we responded to 9 calls. They consisted of 2 false alarms, 2 MVA's, 2 EMS calls, 1 service call, 1 grass fire, and 1 large trash fire.
Due to Phase 1, there was no training during the month of May.
During the month of April, we responded to 5 calls. They consisted of 1 ATV accident and 4 fires (1 cooking fire, 1 electrical fire, and 2 structure fires).
Due to Stay at Home order, there was no training during the month of April.
During the month of March, we responded to a total of 13 calls. They consisted of 1 cancelled call, 1 false alarm, 1 stove fire, 2 control burns called in as brush fires, 1 MVA, and 7 EMS calls.

During the month of February, we responded to a total of 3 calls. They consisted of 1 false alarm and 2 EMS calls.
On February 18, we held classroom training on Fire Behavior, taught by LSU-FETI instructor David Watson. There were 16 department members in attendance who received 3 credit hours for training.
On February 19, we held classroom training on The First 5 Minutes, taught by LSU-FETI instructor Johnny Ogden. There were 17 department members in attendance who received 4 credit hours for training.
On February 26, Tensas Fire hosted the Grain Bin Safety & Rescue Training Workshop, put on by Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation and Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation, for emergency responders and farmers. We had approximately 90 people in attendance from Tensas and surrounding parishes, consisting of 49 fire department and law enforcement personnel, and 41 farmers and farm related individuals. Tensas Fire had 20 department members in attendance who received 3 credit hours for training.
During the month of January, we responded to a total of 10 calls. They consisted of 1 MVA, 2 structure fires, 1 vehicle fire, 1 Mutual Aid structure fire, and 5 EMS calls.
On January 21 & 22, Tensas Fire had training on Hazardous Materials Operations Refresher, taught by Luis Fernando Videgaray and David Watson, LSU-FETI instructors. There were 15 department members in attendance who received 8 credit hours of training.
During the month of December, 2019, we responded to a total of 6 calls. They consisted of 1 false alarm, 1 MVA, 1 structure fire, 1 light pole fire, and 2 EMS calls.
On December 14, Tensas Fire participated in the Newellton Christmas Parade.
On December 23, Tensas Fire volunteers assisted in a gathering for children hosted by the Village of Waterproof, where they handed out candy, since their Christmas Parade was cancelled due to weather.
